** It's happening!! **

We managed to convince Google to open source PebbleOS. Took a while, but they just did it today! github.com/google/pebble

With that, we're bringing Pebble back! I blogged about it - ericmigi.com/blog/why-wer...

6/ We also hear your feedback: users want more ways to verify their identity beyond domain verification. We’re exploring additional options to enhance account verification, and we hope to share more shortly.

Previously I created an account on acm.mastodon.org, trying to separate my personal account on my own Mastodon instance and (future) professional social presence. I never end up using it, now it seems maybe Bluesky is a better option, since most of the academia moved here, instead of Mastodon... 🤔

By popular request, here's how to add Bluesky replies as your blog's comment section!

This requires some technical know-how for now, but I'm hoping that we see some no-code solutions for this pop up soon, like Ghost or Wordpress plugins.

I've launched a new Bluesky stats page: the "Bluesky handle directory", a catalog of custom handles in general domains like .gov, .edu and country domains 🌍😄

We just passed 100k users in a day!

When we first passed 100k total users last May, our tiny team was fighting hard to keep the servers online. It’s exciting to be at a point where we can open up the network.

My bluesky handle includes a handle (@Neilhimself) and my website (neilgaiman.com) and it self-verifies. Here are your instructions: bsky.social/about/blog/4...

For anyone who's new (or just hasn't seen it yet), if you liked TweetDeck, you may also like Deck Blue. I've tried a couple of TweetDeck replacements and this is the one I like best so far:

If you are a developer you can write your own (see mine at github.com/whyrusleepin... )
@redsolver.dev has a platform where you can create your own and run on skyfeed.app , and i anticipate more services like that will pop up in the future :)

Hello newskies! (And oldskies too)
Bluesky doesn’t have just one algorithm, it has many, and you can pick what you like (or write your own). Here’s a few I made and a few i like:

Quiet Posters, posts from people you follow who don’t post that often whose posts you might normally miss
