The portal can be daunting, but take it slowly and if you screw anything up, the Examiners will reach out for clarification.

Also, take the time to register your work with the Copyright Office. Comics publishers don't usually do this for you, and a registered copyright offers greater protection and damages when violated.

Thanks, that's super helpful!

Comic creators: Don't use the Atlantic search tool, find a LibGen mirror. They are sketchy AF with popups so I won't link here, but I found the entirety of Paper Girls in multiple editions/languages.
davidmariotte.bsky.social
This is hugely important: If you use the Atlantic's author search tool, a TON of comics don't come up because they don't have creators listed. I just found like all my comics work looking directly and it sucks. So, make sure you're very thorough in your search.
ryanestrada.com
I searched libgen itself, and it turns out they have almost every book Iron Circus has ever published. They don't show up in the Atlantic Search because they were uploaded without author names.

@ironcircuscomics.bsky.social authors could help destroy them singlehandedly.

Can folks do me a favor?

I was on Bluesky early & it was great. Mostly. I hit the eject button in January.

I came back, many colleagues are here, but still don’t know I am.

I co-created Halt and Catch Fire. I write TV & comics.

Here’s two favorite set photos.

Repost? I am in the wilderness.

I've been working on this one for a bit, and it was a real treat getting to tell the story of BONE's time in Disney Adventures magazine back in the 1990s, with insight from the key players involved in Jeff Smith, Marv Wolfman (!), @comixace.bsky.social (!!), and @cliffchiang.bsky.social (!!!).

Jeff Smith's BONE had a surprising home during the 1990s in Disney Adventures magazine. It was a banner moment for the comic and readers...but how did it happen?

This is the story of Bone's time in Disney Adventures, with insight from the key players involved.

It's open to non-subscribers.

While it might be difficult to imagine in 2025, a magazine was one of the biggest deals for kids back in the 1990s. Disney Adventures, a monthly, digest-sized publication, was loaded with everything t...
