The other scary part is that Bovino isn't a political appointee. So that's the culture in BP that allows a guy like that to rise through the ranks. This is why Abolish ICE/CBP and returning DHS functions (with reforms) to where they were pre-9/11 should be THE position for the next Dem admin.
The main thing here is the anecdotal suggestion of Bovino’s persona maybe helping recruit right-wing military veterans to CBP, but note also how Bovino calls some CBP personnel “operators” (presumably he means BORTAC).

Wrote a piece seven years ago about how the passing of Holocaust survivors and the re-emergence of fascism was not a coincidence. It didn't occur to me that their deaths would also drive anti-semitism in general, but I suppose I should've seen that coming as well.

A reminder that most Americans who are life-long citizens have nothing OTHER than a Real ID to prove their citizenship. This is CBP’s chief enforcer saying that ID doesn’t count.
Bovino, the man overseeing mass deportations, publicly declared that we must all have our papers on us, at all times, or we could be stopped, harassed, kidnapped, and detained, as they did with the man in this case, who is a US citizen.
