I feel this deep in my bones
I mistakenly identified Glen Powell (actor) as Glen Perkins (retired Minnesota Twins closer) and can see the entire rest of my life from here. It's nothing but this, in increasing intensity and frequency, all the way to the end of the line. Honestly it feels amazing.

Most Sox fans (myself included) are happy to add him to the rotation, but these stats are glaring.

Lot of northeast representation in that top 10 🔥💨
Phillips Andover (MA) senior Tamrat Gavenas is your 2024 Foot Locker XC national champion covering the 5K in 15:23.9.

🗣️ “I got injured in the middle of the season…Then I came here and I thought I had a shot. With .5 to go, I thought, ‘This is my chance.’”

Celtics moving up defensively.
There's honestly very few of the most essential people from NBA Twitter who haven't crossed over here yet, but Kirk Goldsberry is an exception and someone should absolutely bring him over here. He does really good work.

Love to see this! Can’t wait to see this kid develop!
We interrupt this XC championship day to inform you that 16 year old Gout Gout has run 20.04 (+1.4) for 200m in Australia.

Wow.

Great piece from King. The Celtics’ ability to win games even when the threes aren’t falling is a beautiful sight. King is the best basketball writer on the planet RN, imo. # Celtics #nba
NEW STORY: The Celtics used to have minimal answers on their coldest shooting nights. They moved to 6-0 this season Friday night when shooting less than 33.3 percent on 3-point attempts.

With chippy play and a competitive edge, Celtics down Bucks despite cold shooting

Is he best friends with Soto? If not this move stinks.

NBA First-Quarter Awards: MVP, Most Confusing Team, and More
It’s time to hand out some awards, both real and imaginary, with the season’s first 20-ish games in the books. Who are the biggest standouts so far?

Honestly I wouldn’t blame him, and I place myself squarely amongst the deranged Sox fandom

Need more of this going forward. Tough, fun basketball to watch.
The NBA should send a tape of this half to all its officials. 16 fouls called but this crew largely let the players play. Fun, physical and competitive first two quarters in LA.
Refs letting them play in LA, and I’m here for it.

Fantastic move by the Deferred Dandies. Edman is such a complete player: good defensively, plays multiple spots, steals bags, good OBP.

Two of the biggest misconceptions in health, performance, and well-being:

1) Simple means easy
2) Complex means effective

Simple stuff that actually works is often very hard. This is why so many people sell (and buy into) complex stuff, which is usually a bunch of baloney.

This is already starting to look like a situation where the Sox come up empty handed. They need to get Fried now.
Red Sox were in on both Snell and Kikuchi before losing out. They seek rotation upgrades and have preferred a lefty.

Great interview. As a high school coach there are nuggets in here that can help with our distance kids.
BYU coach Ed Eyestone on the small strategies employed to win the NCAA XC Championships team title:

• Coating the guys in olive oil before the race
• Positive affirmations on a card strapped to his wrist
• Holding up whiteboards to pass along intel on the team score

Big Z-Lowe fan. Give me all the hoops knowledge.
OG Anunoby was the star last night, but absolutely loved how KAT approached the Denver matchup on offense -- exact right mix of power and finesse, a balance he has found a lot this year. Analysis here

I have become disenchanted with X, and I miss the #Grantland days and good writing and reporting and discussion. Very excited to have found this when I did.
TV and Film Twitter seemed to move here much earlier than Sports Twitter, but it's been heartening to see so many great representatives of the latter arrive here in recent weeks. I used to periodically check The Bad Place a few times a day for sports news, but I don't feel like I need to anymore.
