I'm the only Democrat running for office in the First District. Redistricting would likely help me.

I oppose it. It's wrong to rig elections because voters won't do what they're told.
And it's wrong even if it helps me.

It's a lesson my opponent forgot a long time ago.

So just to be clear: The US is propping up Argentina’s economy, and now Argentina can eliminate its export taxes, so it can sell tons of soybeans to China, so China isn’t forced to buy soybeans from the US, so the US can pay subsidies to keep our farmers solvent.

China expands Argentina soybean buying to 20 cargoes, traders say
Chinese importers kept up a hectic pace of Argentine soybean purchases after the South American supplier's move to abolish export taxes temporarily made its prices competitive, traders said on Wednesday.

They burned down our export markets. A bailout now is just telling people to warm themselves by the embers. It won't last, and it doesn't solve the problem.

ACOG reaffirms that acetaminophen is safe for managing pain and fever during pregnancy. No reputable studies support suggestions like those in HHS’s recent announcement linking acetaminophen use in pregnancy to autism; in fact, high-quality studies show no such risk. https://bit.ly/47Wxc59

These findings in the new Washington Post poll jump off the page: Trump is underwater by 19 points on his handling of the economy (40/59) and underwater by 30 points on his handling of tariffs.

By contrast, the same poll found him at +14 net approval on the economy in Oct. 2020.

Unnerving point from @bcfinucane.bsky.social: The White House appears to be quietly trying to get Republicans to formally turn over a large swath of Congress's warmaking powers to Trump. That's what this new draft bill would do.

Outrageous corruption, and it looks like he was saved from prosecution for it by even more corrupt DOJ appointees--one of whom Republicans later rewarded with a lifetime judicial appointment.

No. That was easy.

It's not even close. The projected returns are unrealistically aggressive, there's no inherent revenue source to support the fund, and the legislature would make fund management impossible.

Fantasies aren't a substitute for governing.

The Ezra Kleins of the world think they understand KS politics b/c they once read a book review of "What's the Matter with Kansas?" and believe they understand the state. They will lead the Democrats to ruin. It would be hilarious if it wasn't actually important.

FFS. Kansas's referendum was overwhelming in favor of abortion rights, 59.2% vs. 40.8%. But, I'm sure that picking the losing side of the issue while completely alienating your base is the path to a Democratic Senate seat. Ezra can't even "centrist" right, by just following the polls.

I genuinely cannot believe that Ezra Klein said we should run pro-life candidates in Kansas, Ohio, and Missouri; three states that recently held abortion referendums where the pro-choice side won!
Taking political positions that'll make it more likely to win Senate seats in Kansas and Ohio and Missouri. Trying to open your coalition to people you didn't want it open to before. Running pro-life Democrats. Constitutional Amendment 3

Lol. This is "I support the 1st Amendment for speech I agree with" which means "I do not support the 1st Amendment or free speech."
In fact, some Republicans who consider themselves defenders of unfettered speech are getting more comfortable with limiting it. Sen. Cynthia Lummis, R-Wyo., told Semafor that “an FCC license, it’s not a right. It really is a privilege.”

“Under normal times, in normal circumstances, I tend to think that the First Amendment should always be sort of the ultimate right. And that there should be almost no checks and balances on it. I don’t feel that way anymore,” Lummis added.

“I feel like something’s changed culturally. And I think that there needs to be some cognizance that things have changed,” she added. “We just can’t let people call each other those kinds of insane things and then be surprised when politicians get shot and the death threats they are receiving and then trying to get extra money for security.”

Free speech is the kind of right that has to be defended constantly. The GOP is making it a test of party loyalty to not just stand down, but actively obstruct any attempt to hold thugs like Carr even a tiny bit accountable.

Party over country.
