It’s funny Zuck says “I started building social media to give people a voice” when in fact, he started building social media to publicly rate the hotness of undergrads.

There’s a nontrivial chance that Trump’s new term is the actual catastrophe that liberals imagined his first one would be. I don’t mean authoritarian, I mean economic, military and social collapse.

Of course Americans are ready for a female President.

65 million people tried to elect one in 2016, but were thwarted by an archaic, democratic institution.

Then 10 million more people voted for a woman in 2024.
Vice President Kamala Harris’s defeat in November has deepened anxieties from Democrats over gender bias. It has also prompted a new round of debate on a political question that has endured over nearly two decades: Will the U.S. ever be ready for a woman president?
Will the U.S. Ever Be Ready for a Female President?
Democrats wanted to end the electability debate. After Vice President Kamala Harris’s defeat, a conversation that has frustrated and foiled two generations of female candidates rages on.

Monopoly Round-Up: New Deal or Crime Spree?
Steve Bannon says it's time for Donald Trump to join George Washington and Abraham Lincoln as one of the great American leaders. It's a 1932-style alignment, he says. But that, um, seems unlikely...

The American people have rejected practical health care reforms in every decade since the New Deal, and just elected a person who offered merely a “concept of a plan“ but you all aren’t ready to have that conversation.

Is there any connection between the support for a scofflaw assassin and the recent election of a scofflaw for President of the United States?

Good piece from @drewharwell.com:

"Trump allies’ moves online offer an example of what some researchers call 'influencer creep,' in which traditional public figures start adopting the rhythms of digital creators to promote or reinvent themselves."

I also highly recommend rereading something from your childhood.

You can see something new and glimpse who you used to be at the same time.
You're not "late to the party" when you enjoy an old book for the first time. Books don't have an RSVP deadline. The party started long ago, and guests show up when they're meant to.
