Really interesting stats. It's really awesome to see Godot takes the industry by storm. From Game Jam to AAA with the UGC platform of Battlefield 6, it can only push more players to create unique experiences on so much different platforms!
These are the engines used to make 9,724 games for the GMTK Game Jam in 2025!

1️⃣ Unity - 41%
2️⃣ Godot - 39%
3️⃣ Other / No Engine - 11%
4️⃣ Game Maker - 5%
5️⃣ Unreal Engine - 4%

Battlefield 6 using Godot for their UGC platform (Portal) is a great call.

Why build an entirely public editor, when you can grab an open source one?

Guessing from these screenshots it looks like it uses pre-set objects (prefabs) that are low res, as dummies, to then load actual objects in-game

I prototyped his "grate rush" attack in #UE blueprint - clay tendrils emerging into the arena interior.
Ultimately the attack was scrapped.

2nd progression beat of the path leading to the Lazarus Pit.

I created the intact version of the #Batman Batcave to later extrapolate from it as a destroyed version. After navigating through the wreckage, players find the ancient entrance to the Lazarus Pit. #gamedev

Warner Bros' closure of Monolith Productions is dreadfuly sad. This is an under-appreciated studio that has made banger after banger, and pushed the industry forward. Here's a quick video on Why Monolith Mattered youtu.be/qywq_1GVIGI
