#SuburbOwl Sunday you say? Well here's a floofy young barred owl from Corkscrew Swamp. 🪶
A young barred owl sits on a branch in a Florida swamp preserve in daylight, looking down and to its left. It is recently out of the nest and still very downy, white bars can already easily be seen on the wing feathers though. Its bill is yellow and eyes dark brown. Photo: mine May 2023.

The Blue Jay is known as a Noisy Bully with a high-pitched squeal. It can imitate loud hawk cries & uses this to drive competitors from the feeders. Sometimes they have a soft and quiet song imitating the sounds of songbirds. If captive they can easily imitate human speech🪶📸 by Alexsander BB
