The final row in the count up to 350,000 riders on Calgary’s 5 St SW Cycle track is complete as of today Oct 6, 2025.

There are 86 days left this year, meaning the cycle track has had an average of 1,255 riders/day.

That sounds like a successful and well used cycle track! 😀

This is the other side of my sign.
Photo of a cardboard sign that in crayon reads: Alberta has the lowest funding per student in Canada! Let’s change that.

I’m so mad I started carrying this sign around with me where ever I went last week. When I am not out and about it’s in my front window.
You too can carry a sign or put it in your window. Funding education should not be controversial.
Photo of person holding a sign over her head DT. Sign reads “If Alberta is the richest province why are we funding education the least.”

As of today, there is one LED row left on the progress tracker at 5 St SW cycle track.

At this pace it will max out by Oct 10 with 82 days left in the year. 🤔

When the counter runs out with still a quarter of the year left, it’s obviously above expected utilization! 🤔

📚✏️ At Bathtub Bikes, we believe in stronger communities, and that starts with supporting our teachers. Education funding matters! let’s cut the excuses, not the classrooms. Proud to stand with the Alberta Teachers’ Association 💛 #YYC

I am really impressed with the temporary basketball ball court set up in the new Eau Claire plaza. What a great way to activate the space between events. Also the trampoline at the adjacent park is lots of fun!

Pedestrians, and drivers are human, we all make mistakes. In other jurisdictions when there is an accident they fix the design of the problem area. Let’s build a city where mistakes are not fatal.
- Reduce speed limits
- Divide modes of transportation with physical barriers not paint

People are dying in record numbers on Calgary roads.

In 2024, 13 pedestrians and 16 motorists were killed on Calgary roads. The highest in a decade.

We need to work together to stop this, make better choices and put safety first.

Wondering if there are any energy leaders that are looking to see if there is a way to transition this NG infrastructure into something that would not only help with adaptation but also mitigation?
cpageyyc.bsky.social
I did a quick search and 7% of these pipes might be buried 1.4m underground.
I also read that some horizontal geothermal loops can work at 1.5m underground.
I see that the math doesn't quite correlate.
cpageyyc.bsky.social
I came across this map and it got me thinking. I am sure we all agree that in 1000 years we won't be burning NG here in AB. What will become of all this capital?

This is amazing till that 24s mark. How sad to be that driver, and so angry. Otherwise what a beautiful way to get your kids to school!

Awful. Hope the kid makes a full recovery. I see too many drivers treating those community streets like their own personal drag strip.

It looks like a dystopian land scape out side but it’s just the first day of school in Calgary; going into over crowded underfunded schools with book bans attempting to stop us from questioning what got us here and how to fix it.
