NOT ACTUALLY A PIER

Music, opinions, football, shares far too much personal information.

Scarily accurate, to be fair.

I use Spotify mainly for podcasts. My “most listened to” song (Cruisers Creek!) had been listened to on 5 occasions, apparently. I have created a few playlists recently, based on the various music challenges I have participated in.

Mine was 57, which is very nearly my real age!

That’s lovely. It’s a timeless record, so not surprised that younger people are enjoying it in 2025!

My stepson, now aged 31, went through a spell of loving The Smiths in his teenage years & was seriously impressed when I was able to show him that I had several 12” singles and every studio album! 😂

Intriguing. 🤔

Totally understandable. The more people who get to hear it, the better.

Just annoys me (at times) that some over-excited music journalists have acted as if they have discovered some incredibly rare item which nobody has ever heard, or heard of! 😡

May have bumped into you. How strange. Small world etc etc!

G’night DJ Shirley. 😎

I really want to go back to Hull. I paid it a quick visit during that strange period in 2020 when we were in lockdown but also able to travel. The rules were very odd and, as we now know, not really being obeyed by the Government.

I’d like to go back and see the Bridge, probably for the last time.

I have a 12” picture disc of this. Bought it for about £2.50 in a clearance sale a couple of years ago.

I lived in Hull where it was always cold and miserable so I wore jumpers most days, apart from a couple of weeks in the Summer. So, the MES “jumper clown” look kept me warm when the wind was howling down the Humber estuary.

I had two styles in 1988. One was my failed attempt to look as cool as Chris Lowe and the other was my successful attempt to look like Mark E Smith in 1978. My hair was lovely and blonde in those days so I had a Barney from New Order haircut. Quite a confused look.

I wasn’t remotely sophisticated in 1988.

Very mild here in the South West of the King’s England.

The bbc should put all of Vic and Bob’s back catalogue onto iPlayer - it’s a national disgrace that they haven’t.

One of the first CD singles I ever purchased. I felt very sophisticated and grown up.

The Top 5, for those who care (which, I imagine, is precisely none of you).
