the only good thing about genAI is that it got me to really love seeing bad art, because I know a person put in time and effort, made themselves vulnerable by showing it to others, and is trying to improve. I value that more than anything now

also a psa for everyone, most of that means-testing stuff in america is nothing more than scare tactics! i'm in rural iowa and all i had to do was show up at my pharmacy and ask for a covid vaccine. got it right then with no charge or questions asked, just filled a super basic form for their records

Yeah saying you "climbed" Everest has pretty consistently meant "I paid someone from Nepal to do the work and I turned myself into a safety hazard for them at every available opportunity" in like 90% of cases
Everest is just a rich white dude's playground at this point. They don't give a flying fuck about trashing the mountain or respecting native considerations/beliefs. It's revolting in that regard, too.
