One of the most remarkable photos ever taken. And it is impossible to comprehend the scale of it.
Taken by Hubble, it is a jet of gas being fired out of a supermassive black hole. The jet is 3,000 light years long (1 light year = 6 trillion miles!).

Aside from the deadzone sitka plantation on the skyline, there's little in this scene on the Owenreagh River in Kerry that's not natural.
This is FAR too rare in Ireland. Rewilding has the power to change that. 💪🏽🌎

The drive through Oregon's Leslie Gulch is among the most breathtaking that I've experienced. Between the drive and my hike up Juniper Gulch, I took more photos here than I did anywhere else on my month-long summer road trip. Well worth the ~21 miles of bumpy dirt roads to get there (and then back)!

After testing my new mount on M13, haven't had a chance to use it since....here's one of my better astrophotos with the old mount. :) This is the Heart of the Heart nebula, Melotte 15, a fantastic sculpture of gas, dust and starlight. HHOO via Ha [OIII] dual band filter, processed in PixInsight 🧪🔭
