Sadé is releasing a new song as part of the “Transa” benefit album. This is the rare news post where every new paragraph made me go "what? wow" in good ways.
Andre 3000 is on this project too, and the lead is an I Would Die 4 U cover Lauren Auder + Wendy & Lisa. 46 tracks

Your regular reminder that we are the only country in the world that has to struggle with dueling definitions of "mass shooting," because ... we have so many mass shootings.

Like, France doesn't have dueling definitions, bc they don't have the regular mass shootings.
"There have been three mass shootings in the US this year".

BULLSHIT.

There have been three shootings where four or more people not including the shooter have been killed in a public place with no other crime also committed.

This is a choice by the New York Times and they can burn for it.

Dear Internet, I need to share with you possibly the weirdest thing I saw today.

It's... a taxidermied rooster, on a lovely wooden base. It is also a lamp where the lightbulb is an egg emerging from the chicken's cloaca. Increasing the confusing nature, there is a clockwork key.

Rather than holding fast to the norms and holding Trump accountable for violating them, the media has increasingly let Trump warp their sense of what's normal and lower the standards across the board. It's pathetic.
Today Vance said Kamala Harris can go to hell and Trump, fresh from giving a cheery thumbs-up at an Arllington grave, basically called her a whore. If you are a political reporter or editor and all you are doing is clucking about "norms," you are failing the moment, the story, and the profession.

Philly Inquirer reports that federal authorities here seized more than 30 domains. Seems all related.

Feds in Philly disrupt Russian-backed propaganda effort aimed at influencing U.S. presidential vote
The disinformation campaign involved tricking Americans with propaganda posted to websites meant to mimic legitimate news sources as well enlisting unwitting American influencers to spread it.
