The Kurds still don't have their own state, but their situation has improved enormously in the last decades. Saddam and Assad treated them horribly. Saddam mass murdered them, Assad made them stateless. Now Assad and Saddam are gone. I hope Kurds in Turkey and Iran will soon see things improve too.
