The now deleted video from Heather Humphreys’ team including an image of the Reichstag building in Berlin.

Video focused on how Heather knows the border and the North - and was posted days after she said she doesn’t just go on “day trips”.

The Rees Moggs will still do History degrees. The Johnsons will still do Classics.
Sadly, the Wilsons from South Bank in Middlesbrough won't get the intellectual stimulation of studying a subject of interest for a degree.

Because it feels relevant as we continue to evaluate the media and our representatives’ statements, my favorite way to identify the active vs. passive voice.
A post by Rebecca Johnson:
“I finally learned how to teach my guys to ID the passive voice. If you can insert "by zombies" after the verb, you have passive voice.”

A tumblr respond from mightymur:
“The final, brilliant word on passive voice.
"She was killed [by zombies.]"<--passive
"Zombies killed [by zombies] her." <-- active”

Five Irish citizens have been detained by Israel on new Gaza-bound flotilla, including author Naoise Dolan and independent TD Barry Heneghan.
The others named by organisers as Fionn Macarthur, Veronica O’Keane, and Mutaz Jadaan.

When Robbie Keane's wife was defending his decision to make the Israeli shekel, she at least had a reason to be in the news (the business brain of that power couple).

Steen is just some person with more opinions than friends.

Just to underline this: there are councillors in local authorities who have been co-opted without a view, and there are senators who have been appointed or voted in by a mere few dozen people.... and they have more of a democratic mandate than Steen.

Stop humouring her.

The rest of us shouldn't have to deal with the consequences of the Farage-ing of an unsuccessful political candidate who gets clicks... especially just because journalists would rather tell this story than explain the triple lock.

There was me, thinking that Irish politics was more dignified than British politics, and then this same contest gave us Conor McGregor and this absolute balloon.

They literally fact-checked the lyrics to a CMAT song.

If Catherine Connolly was spouting such delusional fuckwittery, you can be damn sure she would be fact-checked!

It's not unusual for journalists to have a story months before they can run it.

If Enda Kenny - a former leader of HH's party - called for the election to be scrapped and rerun.... there would not be ten photographers and journos slobbering on the news.

Naah, I think they were in a process and weren't ready to unload until they got a green light.

Fuck the handbag. Those shoes look like she lives under a bridge and won't let billy-goats cross unless they answer her riddles three.
Trans lives matter. Bodily autonomy matters. Easy access to contraception matters. We all have a lot to carry but we can carry it together; anyone who tries to tear us apart knows this and wants us to be miserable.

It's easier to find a kind helpful neighbour than it is to find a reason for us to pay attention to this cruel, rich arsehole.

I'm sorry but you'd swear she was a film star or a pop icon or something and not just some obnoxious middle-class berk who you'd hop in a half-full skip to avoid talking to.

Why are there so many press people there?

If one of the lads from Kíla said that the election should be cancelled until there was a debate in Irish, there would not be an Irish Times article. There would not be a long line of photographers outside Leinster House.

I have an uncle who assures me the Jim Gavin scandal is the doing of Kerry GAA. Where's *his* Irish Times story? It's just as relevant as anything Maria Steen has to say.

She's just some person. Her opinion carries no more weight than that of Bryan McFadden or Crystal Swing or the Lisdoonvarna matchmaker.

They're giving her attention because they think this is a soap opera and they enjoy her character.
