Similar to how they only pretend to care about a hypothetical baby but once it’s born it’s fuck off and good luck out there. Or pretend to care about “the troops” until one is no longer useful.
The conservative rhetoric around protecting women makes more sense once you understand that victims exist purely as a hypothetical for them. Once a victim actually claims the label, they become a threat. This is also why they prefer dead women to living victims.
