I am grieved by the endless pattern of war.

Folks who are outside of California: Please call your representatives in Congress and demand a stop to the use of the National Guard and also the deliberately inflammatory ICE attacks in California. Now is the time.

The president is deploying 2,000 troops to Los Angeles, where protests Saturday led to clashes between immigration authorities and demonstrators, despite Gov. Gavin Newsom's objections.

I'm having a very normal day saving copies of the U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence so I can pull them out on a regular basis. Last week it was about pulling archived data, this week it's about founding documents.

Updates on US Census Data as of February 5:

According to the Census Bureau, all files on the public FTP server have been made publicly unavailable to comply with the President's executive orders.

They say they'll work to restore the files after they are reviewed and approved.

The important thing is the idea makes it to the world, and it frees up your time, actually, for other important ideas that nobody else is working on yet.
If you ever get down on yourself when you see a well-published paper using an idea you thought of but didn't pursue, remember that your well-published papers might be using ideas that others thought of but didn't pursue.

I feel like my RePEc author profile/list of pubs is hopelessly out-of-date and I'm not sure how to get it to reflect the 8 pubs it's missing (in real journals like SEJ!). Is there a way to suggest papers to RePEc that EconPapers and IDEAS haven't indexed? #EconSky
