i grew up in jane & finch as a kid.
i remember being there when they were initially planning this line and promised a fast, new train to replace the overcrowded finch bus. i was excited back then.
all i can say is i feel insulted

Speeding up (not on single measure that might speed it up) the Finch LRT is good, but we do also have to reckon with the fact that on street tramways are just ultimately never going to be an express option for suburban Toronto. If you want express you need grade separation.

Vancouver needs real bus lanes! I'm convinced that they would give temendous bang for buck for improving quality of life and getting people out of traffic.
We could learn a lot from Taipei's central bus lanes. Check them out!

REM's longest branch opening today is probably the most significant transit event of the year in Canada. I'm happy to see our PM acknowledging that it is an automated LIGHT METRO system (media continue to use the term "light rail")! As a Vancouverite, it's a familiar type of system 😉✌️
The REM is essential infrastructure — an automated light metro system across Greater Montréal that will connect more and more of the city as it grows.
