I had this exact same experience this morning. Same reporter as Heidi.

This is *not* normal.

I have spoken to the press on these issues for two decades. No government official has ever demanded to know my identity in order to give a comment on a story.

I find this extremely chilling:
I spoke w a reporter this morning about Kimmel. (Reporter was / is great) They got back to me a short while ago to say they sought White House comment & WH demands to know first which experts they spoke with. I told reporter I'm happy to be quoted IN THE STORY but 1/x

I’m in Delta, Utah, this week, doing a story on California’s last coal plant. It’s been one of L.A.’s largest electricity sources for 40 years, and under CA law it needs to shut down by the end of 2025. Gas and green hydrogen to come.

“I'm upset. This is horrific. But I am not shocked.”

I visited Tyler Robinson’s family home today to learn how the neighborhood is reacting to his arrest in the killing of Charlie Kirk.

Spencer Cox: "Our nation is broken. We had political assassinations recently in Minnesota. We had an attempted assassination on the gov of Pennsylvania. And we had an attempted assassination on a president. Nothing I say can unite us as a country. Nothing I can say right now can fix what is broken"

As hot weather becomes more frequent and intense, it means kids have fewer days when it’s safe to play in the yard for an extended time. It can also disrupt learning in school as heat lingers into the fall.

Gen Z Salt Lakers grew up with more extreme heat than Millennials or Gen X
A Salt Lake City kid born in 2005 lived through hundreds more days of extreme heat during childhood than one born in 1975, says a new analysis. That’s changing the experience of growing up.
