Kevin Hassett said during a Wall Street Journal CEO Council event that he would rely on his own judgment and not bow to political pressure to decide whether to cut interest rates if he becomes the next chairman of the Federal Reserve.

I am a little tired of being yelled at for this but apparently not tired about: heroin addiction is not RFK’s problem. He’s a sociopath. Most addicts aren’t. Honestly, walk into an NA meeting, grab the first person with a few years to be head of HHS and they’d probably do a better job than Bobby.
This is what happens when you put a privileged, 14 year heroin addict in charge of health. Duh

I was going to say that this was just unbelievable. But it’s not, it’s completely believable.
This was just posted by a CBS News producer on their Instagram stories.

Entitled to his views? He has a fixed delusion about vaccines that is completely resistant to data and other forms of proof.
“Secretary Kennedy is entitled to his views. But he is not entitled to put people’s health at risk.”

The horror that was Nazi Germany did not happen overnight.

Tom‘s distinction is correct. We do not have a government that is fully captured by the fascists. But it also does not mean that we are not in serious danger.

Wouldn’t it be wild if Kimmel ended up becoming our Zelenskyy

Great thread on how our current cable news media developed
That is part of it, broadcast licenses hinge on 'serving the public interest', though most regulation in the FCC is about managing spectrum more than content. Cable doesn't have that obligation, or processes for challenging license renewals. 1/

Both sides you say?

How courageous of you
After the killing of Charlie Kirk, people on both sides of the political divide fear an assault on free speech may be under way on.ft.com/4gr1Y8o

absolutely not
Stephen A. Smith is pushing $40M a year in earnings, sources tell The Athletic. And ultimately, he wants as big a voice in politics as he has in sports.

On Wednesday, Smith will formally launch his bid as a political pundit, if not a Presidential candidate.

I really do not understand this. He lists many examples of right wing violence, and then moves on to deposit that the left has the same type of problem. Without any citations or evidence. Where are you going with this David French? www.nytimes.com/2025/09/14/o...

Sounds to me like JD is too emotional to be president
JD’s mom was not getting drugs from cartels, she was a nurse who was stealing painkillers from her patients.
Her patients suffered and she got high.
As a medical professional, I will tell you the lowest life form is someone who steals drugs from their patients.
Zero sympathy for JD or his mom.

With all the damage the the GOP and so-called conservatives are doing to our democracy, our freedoms and our nation’s health and healthcare system, who in their right mind looks around and says, let me tell you why I’m not a member of the only group that’s putting up a fight.

Hard pass.

As a hospitalist, I helped lead my organization’s response to covid in 2020, and that was very, very difficult - with support, vaccines and masks.

Doing that again, with a potentially more lethal H5N1 flu pandemic would be a disaster at an unbelievable scale.

This should scare everyone
An H5N1 pandemic under RFK Jr.’s DHHS could be catastrophic.

To those who may be tempted to doubt the Epstein accusers: be aware that only an extremely tiny fraction of rape allegations are false. And that most women who are raped don’t come forward out of shame and fear of reprisals. The women who spoke out yesterday in DC are American heroes.

“Who am I to tell you what your child should put in [their] body?”

You’re a doctor, not to mention a public health official. It’s literally your job, bro.
Wow. Florida's Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo just vowed to end all vaccine mandates and compared them with slavery.

"Every last one of them is wrong and drips with disdain and slavery. Who am I to tell you what your child should put in [their] body?"
