the idea of “unnecessary sex scenes” seems like a skill issue to me tbh. i love writing sex as a framing device for people because it’s such a great way to show people at their most complex and vulnerable, and how that might interact with someone else’s complex vulnerability

back in 2019, made a "cancelled resources" page for (kink)-artists and friends undergoing harassment campaigns for their art. re-linking here in case if it's useful; some of the info is more twitter-based but applicable still.

Bluesky is opening to the public after nearly a year as an invitation-only app. With a little over 3 million users, it’s mounting a long-shot bid to take on the company that spawned it — and to set social media on a course that no single captain can control.
Bluesky, a trendy rival to X, finally opens to the public
CEO Jay Graber says the app aims to combine ease of Twitter and Threads with customizability of Mastodon. But it faces an uphill battle.

Reminder to new users here:

For the first hundred years of its existence, Singer made sewing machines in lots of 10,000 to 50,000, so there are millions of any single model. Most cabinets are made to accept any head, with the exception of the 99, which is a 3/4 size machine, and the Featherweight.
Reminder to new users here:

Chevy didn't make a 327 in '55, the 327 didn't come out till '62. And it wasn't offered in the Bel Air with a four-barrel carb till '64. However, in 1964, the correct ignition timing would be four degrees before top-dead-center.
Reminder to new users here:

Early Canon FD lenses are identifiable by their metal barrels and silver breech lock rings; later New FD or nFD lenses are all black without the breech lock rings and were built with more plastic, making them less solid but much lighter.

Reminder to new users here:

Most hardback books these days have glued, rather than sewn, bindings. This means they’re basically paperbacks with hard covers. And because the covers are bigger than the book blocks, they slowly sag and pull their own spines out. Buy trade paperbacks instead.
