It seems highly likely we'll have a hard-right government next. Labour is spending the parliament before that not only making itself spectacularly unpopular but also bringing in biometric ID cards, monitoring online behaviour, and undermining human rights protections. At least make it hard for them!

I firmly oppose the government’s plans for compulsory digital ID cards.
This is an affront to our civil liberties, and will make the lives of minorities even more difficult and dangerous.
It is excessive state interference — and must be resisted.

The genetic testing company 23andMe has been fined more than £2.3m for failing to protect the personal information of more than 150,000 UK residents after a large-scale cyberattack in 2023.
Family trees, health reports, names and postcodes were among the sensitive data hacked from the California-based company.
