Isabel Allende often writes books about women in tough spots who figure out a way through — a recurring theme that’s not far off from her own story. She recently discussed her career, grief and more. Read, listen or watch “The Interview.” nyti.ms/4m6mQED

Just posted a major update to this preprint (🙏🙏 anonymous reviewers!)

Major changes:
1. More theory on iterative qualitative coding! including identifying the damn concept itself (a vastly underappreciated part of the qual process)
2. Fine tuning BERT!
3. An absolute disaster fine tuning Gemma!

Redesigning my studio after the move, I had one rule:
The more often I use a thing, the closer to hand it should be.

I'm trying to minimize the need to get up, turn around, or search for things, which too often ruins my concentration.

It's my kinetic Strunk and White; omit needless motions!

@adamkeiper.com I was just thinking of the tripod trilogy; one of the series that helped me discover my love of reading as a kid. Also loved the redwall books
What's a book—or series of books—that you loved as a kid that almost nobody seems to read or even remember nowadays?

Picked up this little book of writers’ writing rituals, & I think most of em are liars — “up at dawn, 6 hours at my desk, followed by calisthenics, liquor, & reading edifying works.” But David Lynch delivers the goods.
