Societies have always contained a decent number of people who were fundamentally amoral (maybe the majority in fact) and the thing that kept them behaving broadly pro-socially was the fear of social (& supernatural) consequences for breaking the rules. That seems to have stopped working, alarmingly.

Sorry, denim company. I will NOT be getting into a denim blazer or hoodie.

Honestly, though, if you had hit me in the mid 90s, I'd probably be AS into it right now as I am my overalls and cords.

Me: I'm gonna take a break from purchasing this expensive nail polish brand. It's become a problem. I have WAY more than I can possibly use.

Wait, so, capitalist Trump is now taking down consumerism? (Where does the whole "free market" thing land with tariffs, anyhow?)

I'd love this if it wasn't for all the literal danger and other terrible fascist elements.

900% increase in ICE budget proposal from the GOP. Going from $9 billion to $90 billion.

$45 BILLION for detention facilities alone.

But they’re cutting school lunches.

Prediction: there will be an Albertan "lets separate" referendum. The results will be closer than you'd think. There will be complaints over wording.

Hopefully, the result is: we stay, stfu.

But there is a reality where the AB christofacist govt changes the rules, and folks lose... everything.

So, I decided to watch Golden Girls, as research for the future.

And let me tell you, I'm preeeettty psyched to think about moving back in with my best friends.

But also super impressed - the comedic timing is amazing, I'm LOLing despite the laugh tracks, and it deals with some serious content.

When the universe gifts you a random dude driving around offering to shovel the 30cm of new snow for $20, you accept. And offer him a hydrating beverage, to go, after.

Two years ago, me: "oh, I'm gonna put a STICKER on my work computer! I'm such a badass with my "boundaries" image.

Today, with a new work computer: "Is the 'fuck around and find out' buffalo too far? Can I get away with the beaded "eat the rich" caterpillar?"

The new tax bracket in AB does literally nothing for people who make less than 60k/year.
Unless you are bringing in 5k a month, there is 0 gain.

Classic Alberta Advantage: ignore the most in need of help.

hello cis friends
this is what people mean by trans genocide

if a type of person does not officially exist, then any harm against them cannot be measured or reported

this headline change isn't even being caused by an executive order

it's simply the NYT editors deciding we don't deserve to exist

Gorsuch's opinion in this case is a fascinating read because he comes to the conclusion a person walking though the facts using any logical framework developed over the past 6000 years would: if sex discrimination is illegal than any antitrans discrimination must be illegal as well
Five years ago, in a case called “Bostock vs Clayton County,” SCOTUS, in a decision written by Neil Gorsuch, ruled that employment discrimination against trans people violated the Civil Rights Act’s ban on sexual discrimination.

The stated reason is harmful to us all.

I make my case against it, and other orgs, erasing us for federal dollars.

I'm all for soft fabrics, but the move for brands to go "super soft" and "eco friendly" with tencel gives garments with shortened life span. (IMO)

Is it eco friendly if it's pilled AF and worn through after a season?

The eco friendliest choice is less consumption, no?
