The future is mutual aid. ✨ 💪

Trying to build community at the intersections of art and justice movements, sometimes organizing mutual aid fundraisers and distributing zines. 🕎 for a free 🇵🇸.

One of my favorite things about Bluesky (or at least my little corner of it) is that people are always sharing resources for taking action.

So here's a pinned thread collecting those resources, some made by me and some made by others.

Part of keeping going for the long haul is pausing to reflect. Part of it is moving forward in community. Please join us at Multisolving Institute to do both of those at a live, virtual gathering just a few days before the solstice. Dec 18 12pm EST. Register here: bit.ly/multisolvingm...

No we're still against certain forms of AI that just kill creativity, deskill our brains, weaken the position of workers, steal from artists, hallucinate, misinform, hinder objective reality and push power even more into the hands of tech-bros that want to rule without challenge.
Is this platform still massively against AI or has it moved more towards acceptance?

Say it with us 🗣️: What's disgusting? Union busting!

We're FOURTEEN DAYS into our national ULP strike. Thousands of workers in over 65 cities are out on strike, and this is just the beginning. #nocontractnocoffee

The institutions are folding.

The elites are collaborating.

The people are fighting.

You want hope? It's that. You want to wake up to why we're here? Start there. You want to know why radicals refuse to give up? That's why.

There is a world elsewhere. 🏴

Literally all pies are delicious, I don't even see a point in ranking them. (But one of my friends makes a blackberry lime pie that's SO GOOD.)

Also fwiw, I think a lot of institutions that are currently part of the state could stay mostly the same, but have their top-down decision-making replaced with a federation of autonomous groups that work together - like the USPS, or public libraries.

Trying to be an ethical human under kyriarchy*, trying to figure out how to dismantle it all without causing even more human suffering, is really fucking hard.

*interlocking systems of oppression (capitalism, white supremacy, imperialism, colonialism, cisheteropatriarchy, etc)

Relatedly, I tend to see states as inherently oppressive structure that can't be reformed to be liberatory, *but* dismantling the social welfare and regulatory parts of a state while leaving capitalism as a whole intact just hurts and kills people!
you take away their ability to survive.

It just fucking sucks that the same legal structure killing some people is also keeping some people alive, and there's no easy answer for how to dismantle it without a human toll.

A central part of my politics is just...listening to people about how things affect them.
IP laws are also the only thing that allows indie creators - writers, artists, musicians, etc - to make a living from their work.

And so many of them have been forced out of the mainstream workforce due to being trans, disabled, etc, so if you take away their ability to make money from their art,

I wonder if people who don't like pumpkin pie have ever had it the way I make it: with chocolate chips and an Oreo crust.

The combo of pumpkin + chocolate is SO good.

I feel bad that I couldn't get through Belly of the Beast, since so many people love it and talk about how important it is.

I just wish there were more books exploring the intersections of fatness, race, gender, (dis)ability, etc, so that if one book doesn't work for me, I could just read another.

I wish there were more books about fatness that took anti-fatness seriously as a form of oppression, made connections between it and other systems of oppression, *and* were written in engaging, accessible language.
