Absolutely shocking how grifters trying to build a reactionary narrative against Starfleet Academy repeated use images of the Black and queer cast members specifically in a way clearly intended as derogatory. I wonder what it signals to their audience? Hmmm....

in the years since "Defund the police" was shouted down as a supposedly unworkable position, Republicans have enacted a policy of defunding literally everything else

public media

childcare

social services

healthcare

the only thing left getting funding is ever more lethal and unhinged police
Defund the police was always a pretty reasonable position. It's absolutely frustrating that the ideas of community safety and policing are linked in the minds of so many liberals and people that close their eyes to politics

it's telling that actual sex workers—eager to show off their naked bodies on the internet, often for free with only polite requests for financial support—are subjected to endless abuse by the very same weirdos who will generate non-consensual images of women who refuse to be sexual objects for them
another thing worth repeating about the Grok "situation"

theres an essentially infinite amount of consensually made adult content online to fit every possible preference, kink and desire

making deepfake porn of others without their consent is about twisted power and control, not being horny

in the best case scenario, a company claiming they train on only their own data means a.) you're still scraping from artists, they just happen to be ones you employ, and 2.) they are *refining* an existing model on an in-house style

but absolutely no gAI model can be fully trained this narrowly
I cannot stress this enough: this is not possible

in a literal technological sense: you cannot train an AI and expect even comprehensible results with under ~1 million pieces of data, nobody can supply all that with the variance needed. You can only achieve it through wanton scraping
Larian CEO says Divinity could have gen AI assets in it but only if the tools are trained on the studio's own data.

"If we use a GenAI model to create in-game assets, then it'll be trained on data we own."

There are no rules. There is no referee. There is no moral imperative.

We're on our own. Act accordingly.

I am actually perfectly fine taking up the position that we should abolish the organization that is murdering moms in the street and forcing the people on the other side to come up with the compromise for fucking once
Continue to think that saying “abolish ICE” without explaining how you’ll enforce the law is a trap, but boosting this
"YouGov has ICE at 39% favorable, 52% unfavorable...But this top line really understates the intensity of public backlash to ICE and its tactics. In February 2025, just 19% of Americans held a strongly unfavorable view of ICE. Today, 40% do."

"Schumer and Jeffries balk at drawing red lines, fearing 'Defund' optics."

ICE is murdering americans in the streets and every city in the country has mass spontaneous protests demanding these fuckers get the hell out

so quick fucking q: what exactly are the optics of ignoring all of that?

Every use of generative "AI" makes any given situation worse.

You're not helping, you're not adding something of worth, and you're encouraging shit to get worse.

part of the reason it's important to try to impeach these people is because it forces them to close ranks

Noem is calling a murdered mom a domestic terrorist

make them keep saying it for months, make them plant their flag on that

"resisting won't work" is what lets them make everyone forget
This is the only correct position, and the inevitable response from knee-jerk centrist reactionaries of "it won't work" is not a valid objection. Every member of Congress has a duty to say that what Noem has been doing is not acceptable.
I am impeaching Secretary Kristi Noem, who is an incompetent leader and a disgrace to our democracy.

She wreaked havoc in the Chicagoland area and has brought her reign of terror to Minneapolis. One of her rogue ICE agents shot and killed an innocent woman today. It must come to an end.

God, it is so tedious that these anti-woke assholes keep making the same video over and over and over again - eliciting the narrative that a show is bad before it even comes out so that they can be ready to pounce on it like red meat as soon as it finally releases.

Guys this is deranged. The Consultant Democrats are hopeless, utterly incapable of meeting the moment

Schumer really needs to be replaced as leader.

We do not need, and this moment won't survive "I am disappointed."

That's all he can muster, and it makes him the wrong person to lead the opposition to fascism. For the good of the country, he needs to step aside and let a brawler take his place.

Any similarities to the United States government are most likely completely intentional.
When Elon Musk was forced to buy Twitter and fired 80% of its staff, everyone thought it would collapse immediately. It didn’t.

It rotted from the inside out, becoming a Nazi-infested crucible for hatespeech and AI-deepfake sexual harassment—unrecognizable as the vital social connector it once was.

Hays Office: We want movies where justice is always served, criminals don't get away with anything, and there are no moral ambiguities.
Frank Capra: Right, so if I have my evil capitalist called out for his behavior and then he dies alone of a heart attack...
Hays Office: Sorry, that's a bit much.
A deleted scene from It's a Wonderful Life had Clarence, ignoring his instructions to return to Heaven once he was done with George, paying Mr. Potter a visit in his office and giving the man his just desserts.

It was deemed too grim and was cut, but admit it, this scene is satisfying to read.
