it is genuinely funny that it hasn't even been a week since the biggest win for the DSA the dems came out and said "no, again, not salvagable. only an idiot would try to save this"

Hindenburg is a more apples-to-apples comparison but absolutely, yes

Damn straight. Afflict the comfortable

To suppress the will of the people, obviously. The Democratic Party is the graveyard of mass movements. We need to start building a *real* opposition party based among the working class, with a socialist platform, that can effectively oppose both major parties

If there's any consolation, some of the pussy hat crowd seem to have wised up recently

Litman was also on the Clinton 2016 campaign. Run for Something's pitch is, on paper, reasonable: run for office to kick the bastards out. But this specific org is *very clearly* a vehicle to get pissed-off young people to start political careers as Democrats instead of building a left-wing party

If you've gone all caps because you're scared or angry I don't blame you. Democrats actively prey on workers' fear and anger to waste your time, energy, and money on them instead of building a real antifascist opposition

Every activist whose sacrifices get squandered by this capitalist-funded, center-right party, everyone who canvasses and phone banks and wastes their political energy and money on these bought-and-paid-for jobber candidates, does so because they're scared shitless of the Republicans.

Your "only hope" against fascism consistently expanded ICE's capabilities when they were in power, during both the Obama and Biden admins.

This party threw trans people and immigrants under the bus in vain to try to get Kamala Harris elected. If GOP are fascists then Dems are fascist collaborators

Any DSA-aligned Dem entryist that even remotely seems like they want to use this party as a vehicle for real change scares the shit out of the Schumers, Pelosis, etc. because they scare the donors. This is about managing the expectations of voters after they've surrendered all leverage to the party
November 10, 2025 at 4:24 AM
The Democrats don't function like a political party with a real mass base and real political platform do. They are not trying to win on the policy goals their progressive wing wins elections on. They are paid handsomely to sabotage the left-wing movements that *do* want to win
November 10, 2025 at 4:24 AM
We already know what happens when someone tries to enter the Democratic Party and doesn't play along. Jamaal Bowman getting primaried by an AIPAC guy, the massive avalanche of money to Cuomo's sore loser campaign against Mamdani, etc.
November 10, 2025 at 4:24 AM
The role of the Democratic Party is to capture energy from and kill mass movements by pretending to be the opposition party. Party leadership is rewarded by the capitalist donors (e.g. AIPAC) for suffocating any sort of workers' movement that would actually threaten them

Like FDR before him, Obama pretending to care kept workers trying in vain to advance their class interests by electing Dems instead of doing the difficult necessary work of breaking away to build an actual socialist party. Bernie did the same despite not winning elections
bsky.app/profile/spac...
obama's lesson to the party is "you have to at least pretend to be listening, you have to pretend you give a shit and take them seriously" and the rest of the party is mostly committed to the feinstein-to-kids approach of "eat my shit and hair, never talk to me again"
November 10, 2025 at 4:24 AM
I agree with you that no Dem is beyond accountability, you might've misunderstood the point I was making.

Schumer is just a good representative of what the Democratic Party actually stands for, otherwise he wouldn't be in a formal leadership position

Getting angry voters to only single out specific Dems, as if it's not the entire fucking party responsible for this, is a decades-old trick to get you to stay registered D to keep participating in their primaries

The ones who caved are mostly Dems with safe seats or who aren't up for re-election next year. Thus allowing the ones actually imminently threatened by primaries to pretend to show spine

Bingo
November 10, 2025 at 2:58 AM
All that energy, time, and money that went into the Zohran campaign and similar campaigns this year *didn't* go into getting left-wing independent candidates elected instead. The Democrats got to capture almost all of it. Again.
