My statement on Donald Trump's threat to deport me and his praise for Eric Adams, who the President "helped out" of legal accountability.

Whatever impostor syndrome you may have once had, dispose of it fucking immediately. If these people run the country, you deserve that promotion, you can run for city council, you can start that business. If this is the baseline, shit, you can do surgery drunk in an alley and you will do less harm.

🙄 If that were true he’d already be on a flight back. The idea we have to engage in “diplomacy” over a thing we are literally paying them to do is ludicrous and insulting.
The Trump administration said in documents filed in federal court that it has engaged in “appropriate diplomatic discussions” with El Salvador concerning Kilmar Abrego García, the Maryland resident who was illegally deported to the Central American country last month.

I'm ready for impeachment hearings over this case
The DOJ lawyer who made the mistake of answering the court's questions about Abrego-Garcia candidly (eg yes he was mistakenly deported, a fact the Administration already has acknowledged), which got him put on administrative leave, has now been fired, ending his 15-year DOJ career..

Just watch. Institutionalized bribery
I guarantee by next week, in exchange for tariff relief, Trump will be demanding from companies political donations to far right causes, rollbacks of DEI, purging LGBTQ employees, and cessation of funding to civil society orgs that support progressive causes.
These tariffs are going to be one of the most corrupt extortion rackets ever conceived of. Any industry that wants to be exempted will be forced to donate to Trump or otherwise bribe him. Political allies will be spared while opponents will not.

Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive.

No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief.

So stop calling deportation. It's imprisonment & indefinite penal servitude without trial, or any sentencing at all
Totally agree with this. Flying a person to a third country that they may never have been to, directly into a prison where they are going to be forced to do hard labor, is not a deportation; it's something else entirely.
@washingtonpost.com They were not DEPORTED. Deported means sending them back to their country of origin. These people were sent to a maximum security prison in El Salvador, without any due process or any analysis as to whether they feared harm in El Salvador!
