This is simply not technically possible. You cannot generate enough writing in-house to train an LLM. You cannot generate enough art in-house to train a GAN. People who think they have a model "trained on our own material" are using a base model of mass-scraped data, unknowingly or disingenuously.

But this is to misunderstand the purpose of fan fiction. Fan fiction starts with the itch of dissatisfaction, it is the art of emotional correction. When what is canon fails to deliver, the fan fiction writers step in, armed with Word documents and righteous indignation. You think this character deserved more hand-holding? Fine. Someone out there is writing 10,000 words of forehead kisses and mutual healing right now. Because fan fiction isn't just rewriting, it's repairing. It's giving yourself the closure you need when the author won't. It's deciding that pain can end differently, that love can be louder, that characters who were doomed in print get to live this time. It's literature written by people who refused to move on and sometimes these people spell really badly (and that is completely OK). And yes, it's rebellion. Against gatekeeping, against prestige, against the assumption that stories only count when they make money. Fan fiction exists because readers loved something so much they refused to let it die.

Everyone listed above sitting in their support circle. Crowley said his angel fucked off to heaven after he kissed him. Ed said same. Sherlock deduces they suck at kissing. Loki said Sherlock kissed John in five universes. Spike said no amount of kissing or mind-blowing sex made Buffy stay and then asked how come Crowley has a whiskey, drinks aren’t allowed. Crowley says Fuck off, that’s how. Spike chases Crowley for his whiskey and calls him a wanker. Crowley says that’s not at all what someone faking a British accent would say (the actor James Masters isn’t British). GRRR ARRRGH Spike corners Crowley for the drink and says hands it over. Crowley dumps it on the floor. They start wrestle fighting like two idiots. Spike vamps out and bites Crowley. Crowley snakes out and bites Spike on the ass. Loki watches nonplussed, says there’s oreos if anyone wants some.
