Sadly can’t fix the more general problem that conferences are expensive and many people don’t have access to funds.

My understanding was that university accommodation will be available at Maynooth for the event, so you probably can’t book anything yet. I imagine the sense of fullness is simply that everything in town has been reserved by the organisers - but this is me guessing rather than certainty.

Very much agree! Similarly, I’ve always had a preference for games that encourage players to ‘do history’ (either within or outside the game) over games that provide you with a ready-made, tidy version of the past. The incompleteness and the need for interpretation is the fun bit!
