New CDC data again shows that “Linking smartphones and social media to youth well-being distracts us from the real difficulties faced by young people”

Exactly.

Excellent summary of why in the San Francisco Chronicle by Mike Males.

Why the latest CDC teen mental health report is a politically inconvenient bombshell for crusading California pols
The report reveals that teens’ use of social media is more complicated than the simplistic campaigns to restrict access recognize.

After I got my doctorate in health admin, I could have taken a cushy job atop a corporate health firm & gotten rich off denying claims, but instead, I chose a low-paying civil service job to help care for Veterans & the Military. So don't give me that "he was only doing his job" crap.

People celebrating Luigi Mangione, the health care CEO assassin, need to understand that vigilante killings are not celebrated or in any way condoned in the United States. We are a civilized country that values the lives of its citizens.

I’m thinking Mangione blew it when we went to McDonald’s. He goes to a Waffle House and someone hides the gun for him and probably keeps it, he goes to a Popeyes and nobody is talking to the cops, he goes to a Starbucks and people buy him breakfast.

After a couple decades of ugly political carnage, let's admit that Rudy Giuliani is giving back. If only he could appear in court every day for the next four years and express fully displeasure with his situation, our nation would be a happier place. I, for one, am finally thankful for the man.

Two UNELECTED men pen op-ed about how they’ll be dismantling the US Government.

They start off by saying the government is FOUNDED on the basic idea that the PEOPLE should ELECT the folks who run the show.

The lack of self awareness is mind boggling - by what merit did they earn these powers?

This is the point. We choose between despair and capitulation or hope justified by our own vocal "No!" Then we reach out with vision & compassion, and we WIN.
Joe and Mika have chosen to surrender to Trump--but WE will NEVER surrender. We will take the fight to him. We will not meet him halfway on his fascism and racism. We know who he is--and more importantly we know who we are. My article: deanobeidallah.substack.com/p/joe-scarbo...

All those little red arrows on the maps "proving" a red shift? NOT quantified. Each could rep 25, 10, 5 votes. They're about as useful as those redstate/bluestate maps that assign political importance to vast stretches of the Dakota badlands. Don't be scared/fooled.
