I hope someone draws this wonderful story about Tom Stoppard's Arcadia and the power of the arts to help us see things differently, to the attention of our Education Secretary. Do read it, it will lift your spirits.

Recently, as I was doing some deep breathing exercises in the vestry to cope with some nonsense at church, someone came up to me and said "these days I have to ask God for patience, because if I ask him for strength I'll deck a bitch." and honestly? Biblical levels of wisdom there.

saw part II of the *Coast of Utopia* on return tix. Stayed the evening to see the other two plays then saw the trilogy in order the following week. Over 3 hours each play, but was riveted. The most transformative drama I've ever seen, or since read. RIP Tom Stoppard.

This is not a peace plan. It is a proposal that weakens Ukraine and divides America from Europe, preparing the way for a larger war in the future. In the meantime, it benefits unnamed Russian and American investors, at the expense of everyone else.

every week I absorb a fact about Eleanor Cobham that makes my head spin. This week: she's from Kent. I mean, I knew she was from Kent, but never thought about what that might mean until considering Shakespeare's depiction of Cade's rebellion.
