The White House Antifa Roundtable is one of the best displays I’ve seen of this-is-how-bad-it’s-gotten — just a sewer of open fascism, dementia, morons and freaks, and incoherent rage.

Of course, with Trump himself, it's hard to say. First because there's a question of whether he's ever *believed* anything properly, so what takes the place of that in his mind, maybe he convinces himself; second, with his current dementia in the flickers of his awareness, who's to say?

Bondi claiming they arrested [checks notes] "the girlfriend of one of the founders of antifa" has me in stitches

Bondi: "Bondi: "Just like we did with cartels, we are going to take the same approach, President Trump, with antifa -- destroy the entire organization from top to bottom. We are going to take them apart."

“Republicans want to close your public schools—Democrats say NO FUCKING WAY!”

Ad infinitum.

Was just talking with someone who works in neurology who thinks he's probably been having some strokes, etc.

I say, keep up the pressure on him.

🚨THIS IS A BIG DEAL. Chicago journalists are suing the Trump administration for using excessive force against reporters & protestors in violation of the 1A.
The press here is doing astounding work documenting how ICE is out of control. The violence they face in doing so is obscene.
The protests at the Broadview ICE facility and the federal government’s violent
attempts to silence the protesters became a story of great interest to the local Chicago media and
was also covered in the national press. Much of the coverage described the federal officers’
abusive tactics. Defendants sought and are seeking to quash this coverage by attacking and
intimidating members of the Press on the ground there.
85. Federal immigration officers at the Broadview ICE facility have repeatedly and
intentionally singled out persons whom they know to be members of the Press for violence,
assault, and intimidation. These assaults are not incidental or unintentional. They are undertaken
by design to intimidate journalists on scene and to frustrate and suppress coverage of the federal
officers’ actions toward protesters and immigration detainees

Oh — new reporting on Pope Leo from El Paso Matters, citing footage they have of yesterday's meeting.

Sounds like the pope was even *more* forceful in urging U.S. bishops to speak out about immigration than first reported.

I mean, that's…not subtle. elpasomatters.org/2025/10/08/e...
“I was struck at the beginning (of the video), it talks about the feeling of powerlessness, which I think is so much. I think it’s so important that we as a church give a message of hope in the midst of these horrible struggles, what’s going on in so many cities in the United States right now. At least the church cannot be silent,” the pope told the El Pasoans, according to a video of the meeting provided to El Paso Matters by Hope Border Institute.

Seitz responded: “You’ve spoken very strongly. We’re trying to do the same in our country and yet not get into the political fray the best that we can.”

Pope Leo told Seitz that he’d like to see the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops become more vocal on immigration issues.

“I mean, even within the conference, there are challenges. That’s one place they should be … I wish they were stronger in their own voice,” Leo said, adding that Archbishop Timothy Broglio, the president of the conference, should speak out more on immigration.

“There’s been some good movement in that sense, but I certainly intend to continue to encourage” U.S. bishops to address immigration, Leo said.

Like, clinically the guy has intermittent facial weakness, dysarthria, and an ataxic gait with right sided clumsiness.

Hard to judge his ‘mental state’, so I’m sticking with what’s plainly obvious from watching the guy.

Oh, exactly. There are so many subtleties of cognition & diagnosis IS NOT what we're talking about-rather the practical outcome.
(BTW in his 1st term, I never thought Trump was demented-his word salad seemed more a feature of his malignant narcissism--now's different)

Pritzker: "He wants to militarize major cities because he wants us to get used to the idea of troops on the streets. I believe he's gonna post people outside of polling places and if he needs to in order to control those elections, he'll assume control of the ballot boxes & count the votes himself"

The essence of Bari Weiss: not reporting, but crude partisan propaganda presented in the form of reporting—and usually pronounced from the mouths of anonymous sources which likely don't exist. Expect this sort of prolefeed at CBS News soon.

Yes. The Congress member has no clinical qualifications AFAIK, but that's it--it's political and rhetorical--but not made up, it's actually sincere--anyone can see that Trump's not cognitively functioning on all 8 cylinders (or 4, or 2--whatever cognition he once had)
drewkadel.bsky.social
Really and truly. We don't what we will be dealing with, or even fighting for, in the months and years ahead. I encourage people, insofar as possible, to recognize that fear and turn it into courage. And be compassionate, for God's sake.
drewkadel.bsky.social
I don't know, but this is the way to do it--just, by the way, of course he has dementia, so....

If hername is Halligan, that's the best possible outcome. Also Bondi should as well, but she's clearly a psychopath, so that will take more than she'll get here.

Of course. Or more to the point that he will be effectively removed from office - not a sure thing by any means, but his refusal to leave is not what is determinative.

Esp if court reform is first on the agenda in 2029, that interpretation by a new SCOTUS can basically overrule that decision. And Trump and all his criminal conspirators should go to jail. (Yeah, I know, Trump will die in a hospital before appeals are exhausted)
drewkadel.bsky.social
Many of the things these impulsive whiners are doing are criminal violations of actual laws. This includes Trump--and I think that the immunity decision of SCOTUS may not protect him or them when out of office.
[There's weird wiggle room in the language that begs for interpretation] +

We’re not dealing with brilliant strategists cleverly laying traps, we’re dealing with impulsive whiners whose advantage is contempt for laws, norms, and morality.

They’re not pulling some elaborate trick, they’re just willing—even eager—to do things regular, principled people consider off limits.
