This also applies largely to Irish universities in the social sciences. Especially, the essential and desirable criteria have to be domstrated in the cover letter! CV still counts to cross-verify what was said in the cover letter.

Extremely disturbing new case from Texas, which shows (as I have long argued) that tenure won't protect you from being fired for unwelcome speech.

Extra dubious is that, even in the doctored clip, there is no explicit reference to violence ("overthrow" does not necessitate violence).

Written by one our graduates 🙄. Indeed it looks like asking the addicts to reflect on their drug usage. At the same time smart phones are multifunctional tools & their appropriate usage must be learned not banned. Still, thinking about a full ban in my own seminars, in lectures it is harder to spot.

The Embankment cycleway (CS3) in London was purposefully built to be wider than was usual in order to future proof it.

Some said it would hardly be used.

Now there’s a decent case for widening it further.

Induced demand is real.
