China, Russia and India have dispatched emergency teams and supplies to earthquake-ravaged Myanmar. So have Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam. The U.S., the richest country in the world and once its most generous provider of foreign aid, has sent nothing.

Democracy is burning, and we need sites like Bluesky more than ever. And Senator Durbin wants to repeal 230, which would massively stifle the ability of sites like Bluesky to exist, while massively empowering X and Meta.

Why?

It seems that someone in his office doesn't understand 230.
It’s time to repeal Section 230. We must be able to take social media companies to court for addicting kids and enabling drug trafficking on their platforms.

Musk and Ludick both talked about changing how the GDP is figured. You can't fail if no one knows the numbers.

Remember, "we only have so many cases because we keep testing"? Like that. They cannot survive in an environment of truth.
A large part of what many agencies do, is collect, collate, and report data. Report to congress so they can be informed how to make laws. When this unskilled clown show is a little down the road, they are going to have to suppress all of that data to stop their own constituents from revolting.

What is this a pretext for? He and the GOP have long shown interest in going after Social Security. What are they going to try?

Freeland: "If these tariffs are put in place, it is going to hurt Americans ... your grocery prices are gonna go up, bc you know what you need to grow food in the US? You need fertilizer. 80% of it comes from Canada and you're gonna be a 25% tax on it? ... the WSJ is right. This is dumb."
