The "Alt NOAA" account is currently spreading misinformation about weather alerts and claiming that cell phone alerts don't exist and you have to have a weather radio. Cell phone alerts absolutely do exist, check your settings to make sure you didn't turn them off.

Are some stories filled with extra text to appease the SEO gods or whatever? Sure. Are some articles a bit click baity or crappy? Yeah. But often, that account summarizes articles in a way that leaves out context, sources, quotes, etc. It's a really horrible way to get your news.
