Things COVID has proven:

1) The job you were told couldn’t be done remotely, can be done remotely.

2) Many disabled workers could have been working from home, but corporations just didn’t want them to.

3) Internet is a utility and not a luxury.

4) Universal healthcare is a necessity.

Meltdowns aren’t failures.

Not do they make you a burden.

They aren’t a lack of control.

They are our nervous system hitting capacity – our body’s way of saying enough.

The goal isn’t to never have meltdowns.

The goal is to recognize them, recover with care, and break the shame cycle.

Autism isn’t universal.

Not in how it looks.

Not in how it’s identified.

Not in how it’s understood.

Western diagnostic criteria assume a single standard of ‘normal’ - but whose social rules are we measuring against?

Thinking especially of the autistic people who suffer from this kind of problem and, because they are unable to express what is wrong, have no was of finding relief for their pain.
But instead of researching this, of course, we have unspeakable bampots flogging the dead horse of vaccines and autism.

Last year, at the age of 29, I was diagnosed with both autism and ADHD, sometimes referred to as “AuDHD.” These diagnoses have been revelatory in better understanding and working with my brain.

Murderbot Diaries was one of the first books I read that truly showed what it's like inside my autistic mind. My internal world is very big, and constantly processing several things at once.
“I hate having emotions about reality. I’d much rather have them about Sanctuary Moon. And what was I supposed to do, go off on this empty planet and just live until my power cells died? If I was going to do that I should have planned better and download more entertainment media”
