Some local kids write & sell their own newspaper called The Morning Moustache every few months. Last edition, I wrote a letter to the editor about a fruit & veg safari. This edition, they printed the letter & followed up with some replies from the editorial team. An extremely fun correspondence.

If you ever need to print your work it will do you a world of good to understand DPI/LPI & how it ties to resolution.

Similarly, understanding why CMYK "looks bad" compared to RGB. Learning about the difference between additive & subtractive colour mixing is important (& genuinely interesting!)
feel like anyone who works in illustration/digital art should get like a crash course in resolution cause i don't know why i fairly regularly have to explain that a file is the exact same whether it's at 300dpi 600 dpi or 72dpi and you can just change the dpi without changing anything about the file

Sighted users often use bold or large fonts to create the appearance of headings in documents. People using screen readers have no way of understanding these visual cues. Use heading styles from the styles menu to correctly format headings.

“Paddington’s iconic red bucket hat has been replaced with an off-character red-and-yellow gibus. His trusty blue duffel coat with toggle buttons is a waist-length sweatshirt with white crosses. And the beloved bear’s earnest, cheery smile is now a humourless maw.”

THAT’S how you write the news.

Boy, they really screwed up the new 4K version of Mad Men. In this scene you can clearly see the ghost from Three Men and a Baby at the edge of the screen.

Still thrilled with my GX85 that I can eke out decent video and pictures in grotty light conditions, I wish they kept knocking this series out. A video example from earlier in the year.

I travel a lot on the WCML to see family and when I’m budgeting I generally assume prices are about 40% lower as that’s what I’m going I get back on delay repay.

Ironically the delay repay is the best-run bit of the entire service. Maybe they could hive off the rest and just be a refund company.
