Dolly Parton on supporting the LGBTQ community: “We are all God’s children. We are who we are and we should be allowed to be who we are. If you’re the fine Christian that you think you are, why are you judging people? If you’re gay, you’re gay. If you’re straight, you’re straight.”

This is a microcosm of practically all federal spending under Trump: delays, uncertainty, empty promises. It is in fact why there is a shutdown right now: unilateral decisionmaking on spending appropriated by Congress is intolerable.

The shutdown is already impacting delivery of nutrition aid to low-income moms and babies.

Trump officials said tariff revenue would fund WIC until the government reopens, but the money hasn’t started flowing yet.
States left in the dark on food aid despite Trump’s promise of tariff funds
The shutdown is already interrupting benefits for low-income moms and babies — and agencies don’t know when the next check is coming.

So far we are totally able to ignore the catastrophic event happening right now. Once the gulf stream tips or other major disruption happens we'll see that everyone had in fact always understood the science.

I am under 35. All of my higher-ed teaching experience was within grad school so fairly recent. I am not some crusty boomer. And I have seen this. It has gotten worse! Far worse!

Please join me in raising funds for medical cargo buses and trucks with electric jamming for brigades of Ukraine's Khartiia Corps. These automobiles make the difference between whether people survive or not. We can do something very specific and meaningful to help.

Huge, huge swathes of *Trump voters* will effectively have no health care available except for emergency ER.

It is simultaneously a) the worst way to maintain public health and b) the most *expensive* way to do it.

Idiocy from moral degenerates. That's our country now.

FLOOD: Here's the deal: Some hospitals that are rural hospitals are going to eventually have to transition from being acute bed hospitals into being an ER model

We are doing politics with version of America in our heads that doesn’t really exist—or, at lest, not fully.

Trump’s portrayal of American cities as war zones is, of course, not based in reality. But neither is the persistent belief among many we have not already hurtled into authoritarianism.

Have the Trump psychotics found the leader of antifa yet? Are they aware that Gen Eisenhower, that noted anti-fascist, is no longer with us and can’t be arrested? Perhaps they can dig up Winston Churchill & bring him to ICE HQ?

We had die-ins and pro Palestinian protests in campuses in the 00s-10s, but nothing anywhere near this binary, absolute, and too often (not always) tolerant of open antisemitism.
