Hi! I study DNA from museum specimens and fossils to see how animals are responding to change in the environment. This is a cave in Madagascar where bones of extinct species can help us in our research #ScienceIsForEveryone #ScienceSelfie
Selfie of me at the entrance to a sinkhole with banyan tree roots in southwestern Madagascar. There are lots of fossils under there!

We can't become desensitized to this.

The President of the United States is baselessly calling for the jailing of two Dem leaders on the same day a former FBI Director was arraigned for an indictment the president personally directed. This is un-American authoritarian insanity.

Mayor David Pruhs is a conservative who fought protections for LGBTQ+ residents; he made comments this year drew condemnation this year from Alaska Natives. He lost to Mindy O'Neall.

I’m a career prosecutor who took a $25,000 check from an affiliated entity of Donald Trump’s while investigating Trump University and later left my lobbying firm to become Donald Trump’s personal impeachment lawyer, White House aide, and Attorney General. So don’t you DARE question my integrity.

Stop private equity from buying single-family homes.

Instead, give young Americans low-interest mortgages & downpayment help to buy them.

Homes for young families, not Wall Street.

That’s new economic patriotism.

It is hard to believe GOP Senators just sit there and let Bondi lie, disrespect, and commit perjury and do nothing. It’s appalling.

It’s the US Senate. Act like it GOP.

- Indicting political rivals
- Suppressing dissent
- Rewriting history

These are all chapters in the authoritarian playbook, and Donald Trump is following them step by step. Now is not the time to stand on the sidelines; it’s time to make your voice heard.

i think it is cool that a government run by fanatical bigots is on track to plunge the economy into a mountain and cause a food crisis

So this is funny.
The administration just issued a rule slashing foreign agricultural worker wages. And to justify it, in a public filing, Trump's Labor Department alleges that Trump's immigration enforcement has devastated the Ag workforce and caused a "risk of supply shock-induced food shortages."
Trump Labor Department Says His Immigration Raids Are Causing a Food Crisis
In a filing in the Federal Register, the Labor Department argues there are “immediate dangers to the American food supply” due to a lack of migrant agricultural workers.

Gotta wonder what the hell the #NFL is thinking. It isn’t like they didn’t know.
Back in 2015, before entering the NFL, Hill pleaded guilty to domestic assault and battery by strangulation after he assaulted Espinal, who was then pregnant. Hill received three years probation for that crime. The NFL has yet to hand down any discipline for Hill for this most recent incident.

Masked ICE agents are violating the 4th Amendment blatantly. The amendment isn't foggy. It doesn't say "citizens." It says "the right of the people" to be secure in their persons and homes. Sue them as John Does. You can if they violate your constitutional rights. I would. See Bivens lawsuit.

Attorney General Pam Bondi came before the Judiciary Committee today.

But she refused to answer a raft of important questions.

On Tom Homan's bribe.

On Donald Trump's new luxury plane.

On January 6th pardons.

On illegal strikes in the Caribbean.

On Epstein.

The stonewalling was staggering.

This is why I deleted my Facebook account.

Yes I can be friends with people who I disagree with politically. But that means disagreements like “should more or less tax money go to this department or that one?”

It doesn’t mean “are these people human, or not?”
Meme saying: It depressed the hell out of me that people I used to consider friends have turned into people I wouldn’t tell where Anne Frank was hiding.”

I guess according to the sanitizing standards of mainstream media’s neutrality-theater journalism, you can “buck tradition and legal precedent” so hard that you end democratic self-government and the constitutional order altogether.
