Oh god, it’s worse. This is Open Ai dictating to the studios they can “opt out” of OUTPUTS. This isn’t even about the training, as Open Ai thinks it’s all theirs to use for free.

The hubris of these thieves is just obscene. I can’t see them not getting sued for this, it’s just that ridiculous.

It's weird to me that so many of my neighbors voted to take away their own healthcare to give me a tax cut. They need their health care. I don't need a tax cut. Neither does anyone who makes more than me, either.

This was just posted by @tbretc.bsky.social on another platform. The Chicago Sun-Times obviously gets ChatGPT to write a ‘summer reads’ feature almost entirely made up of real authors but completely fake books. What are we coming to?

New: All 50 states have now introduced right to repair legislation. A really amazing milestone for a grassroots movement. Wisconsin just became the last state to do it:

TDD goes a long way in making sure AI-generated codebases are maintainable and work as intended.

I expect to see a lot more people adhering to TDD out of necessity.

When it’s safety, there is a chance that legal frameworks will enforce it but business treats ethics as an optional PR stunt !
The fact that they call themselves "AI Safety" and call us "AI Ethics" is very interesting to me.

What makes them "safety" and what makes us "ethics"?

1/8 Fun update on that GenAi Christies show.

They lie quite a bit about their own show. Here’s a few:

Lie #1 Christies says work on the show comes from data which was trained on participants own inputs in this article below:

This just isn’t the case.

Got my first "Violating an Executive Order" and "I'll make sure you lose federal funding" parent threat today for teaching "DEI" books in our upcoming "Liberty and Justice" themed unit. Even in "Blue" Massachusetts we're dealing with this.
