They handed $17,000 directly to three Democrats—

Sens. Jacky Rosen (D-NV), Tim Kaine (D-VA), and Dick Durbin (D-IL).

All 3 of them joined Republicans to pass the bill.

Buried deep on page 154 of the new funding bill is a single line that blocks the FDA from enforcing food safety & traceability rules designed to prevent deadly outbreaks of Listeria, Salmonella, and E. coli.

They just made it harder to trace where contaminated food comes from.

Harvard grads can call the Harvard Alumni Association and politely let them know they won't donate to the school as long as Summers is working there. Their number is 617-496-0559.

So odd that the evangelical professional victim brigade isn't loudly protesting this vicious use of state force against peaceful religious practice.

Christofascists are a huge tendril of MAGA, but it's not itself Christofascist and largely pretty secular (especially with the tech and gamergate side of things).

But also, the more pertinent thing: Christofascists do not see Christianity as a big tent. Rev. Woolf is, to Christofascists, an enemy.

I like how he refers to this as a “spiritual emergency.” That is so true. We are in the midst of a spiritual
emergency in this country. It reminds me of what @theferocity.bsky.social said yesterday about people not taking the Epstein issues seriously enough, and not having a real moral reckoning.

The problem of course is we have a political and economic system that has eliminated the downsides of insane behavior and risk taking. You can burn down the world and then shrug and walk away with billions. Seems like a problem
