- weakening from the use of alternative fuels
- cancelling the PHEV utility factor correction
- credits for scrapping old cars

It is a pretty dire indictment on the quality of German policy-making if we blast billions on stay-at-home subsidies and gastronomy tax cuts.

And do nothing for our most important industry bringing in 90bn in tax receipts, other than killing the ICE phaseout cuz we want to stay in the 20th century

There is a lot of talk about a peak in Chinese fossil CO2 emissions.

Carbon Monitor already has estimated a decline in Chinese CO2 in 2024 (last year) of -0.44%.

The Global Carbon Budget has a 0.7% increase in 2024.

Across two datasets, we don't know if up or down!
