History that's always stuck with me: during miners' strikes union workers set up secret gardens and food reserves. Company thugs and cops were constantly trying to find, raid and destroy these. That's who capitalism and the state are.
And it was worth doing anyway. Some of those strikes won.

What's funny is 0% of cops and very few careerist liberals even understand the concept of "dual power" but if you even try to feed some hungry kids, an army of neutralizers will show up to strangle your project and if that doesn't work, the cops roll in.

The NYT's anti-trans fear mongering was cited in a Supreme Court briefing that stripped away the rights of trans kids. They need to be fully blacklisted by queer people and their allies. Don't work for them. Don't use them for book press. Don't speak with them for stories. They made their bed.

Dunno if there was ever a time in US history in which protests turning violent was a decision made by the protestors.
But I think this far into the 21st century you can ALWAYS be safe in assuming it was the cops that made that decision, and only the most credulous buffoons would believe otherwise.
