My dinosaur documentary comfort show has a new season out about the Ice Age so now I’m watching a bunch of hyper realistic cgi giant ground sloths slide down snow banks on their backs and I could not be happier

I have long posited that Daniel Craig's accent in Glass Onion is better than Knives Out because in Knives Out he is trying to do a real Southern accent and is bad at it but in Glass Onion he is just talking like Foghorn Leghorn, which is something a real gay Southern weirdo would do.

I'm sorry but I can't handle this attempt to rehabilitate Jim Carrey's " How the Grinch Stole Christmas " into a holiday classic. Like it was such ass that it introduced my entire kindergarten class to the idea that sometimes movies can suck.

I love that so much trans literature is included on here, but man does it suck to see that happening alongside praise for Ezra Klein and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

TRUMP: Uh huh
MAMDANI: And breaking down barriers? Reminds me of a certain Broadway show *smiling widely* where they worked together to break a barricade?

the takeaway from the Zohran Trump meeting is that Trump is a gullible fool who will temporarily bend to the last charismatic person he talked to.

Zohran played him perfectly but that doesn’t mean Trump is good now. He’ll go back to fascism tomorrow morning after he talks to Stephen Miller

Q: Are you affirming that you think President Trump is a fascist?

Really excellent point that often gets lost in the (deserved) mockery.

These things are not neutral arbiters of truth. They are easily manipulated extensions of the ideology of their creators.

The attempt to shove them into every conceivable knowledge space is an explicitly political project.
The grok stuff is pathetic but it’s also a perfect and undeniable illustration of chatbots as ideology. It’s no less true for chatgpt or other bots, but sometimes not as visible.

An old fav I've been thinking about lately, my story "The Daddy Thing" at @electricliterature.com

Some things I still feel extra pleased about even years later: the story's odd shape, the bats (obvs), the mother's tattoo, the vampire, the rhythm, & the inverted question marks
