Queer Jewish dad. You don’t like to believe you can be summed up in three words but, well, there it is. I guess I also work in politics.

one has to assume that rubio would denounce his own children in a MAGA show trial if it would give him a .5% greater chance of winning the iowa caucuses

Between this and Hakeem Jeffries doing a “this too shall pass and Jesus take the wheel” - can you imagine greater proof that almost our entire elected representation on the D side is woefully, pathetically, dangerously unsuited to the moment?
Dear media:

Please do not waste time hyperventilating about this dumb comment.

It’s intended to be a distraction from all of the damaging actions he’s taking.

Focus on those.

There’s a teenage boy with floppy hair at the gym lifting in jncos and a form fitting black tshirt and he looks so much like a 90s lesbian heart throb that I’m having trouble not giggling

WHO GIVES A FLYING FUCK THAT ITS UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

“Republicans are taking away food stamps and preschool.”

See how easy that is? Good fucking god.

Katherine Franke is generous, kind and brilliant. Not that it matters, but her Jewish partner was maybe the best grad school professor I had. A huge loss to Columbia with only Columbia to blame.
A Columbia professor criticized Israeli students. It put her job at risk.
Columbia Law School professor Katherine Franke alleged Israeli students bullied Palestinian peers, spurring colleagues’ complaints and a school investigation.

this urge to launder rfk jr. as “just a guy who is right about a few things” is such a perfect example of how liberals are people who won’t take their own side in a fight

Credit where credit is due on the death penalty commutations. It’s truly fantastic. That’s the kind of faith in action I like to see in civic life.

pretty grim when health insurance company executives have to try to hide their identities online like they're public school history teachers, government employees or doctors who care for transgender people
United Health just deleted this page from their website lol

The United CEO’s killing should be called an assassination. Heads of insurance cos wield the kind of power over life and death once reserved for heads of state, and they do so while exercising enormous political power and with seemingly little care for the lives or average people.

It is unspeakably, intensely strange to have my regular ass life be not only such a focus of animus but such an object of existential skepticism. Like, do I exist? Tune into six old bigots with lifetime tenure to find out!

It is really quite something to hear Justice Alito talk about leaving decisions to people and their doctors and how bereft of expertise the court is.

What’s wild is how uniform, across all platforms, the responses to the United CEO’s assassination are: people sharing times they were denied critical coverage and expressing surprise it took this long.

If only there were a minuscule chance the industry might reflect on that.
