I think a difficulty that people have had since gamergate is that someone can be profoundly harassed in an unfair and life threatening way that also intersects with bigoted harassment based on the person’s marginalization, and that harassed party can also just, not really be a good person

"The Americans, fittingly, is a show obsessed with intimacy. I’m frequently stunned by the way the show portrays something as simple as Philip helping his wife remove her boot, a kind of tenderness in his touch that matters far more than anything he could possibly say would." (Emily St. James)

The problem with representation as the answer, be that of women or people of color or queer people is that you have assimilationists who are trained highly to perfectly adapt to & work in the service of institutions that are inherently harmful filling these seats at the table, & that's of necessity.

this is heavy but one of the big things i wish people understood about adoption is how fraudulent it is. the narrative of a child being willingly surrendered by an unfit biological parent has been repeatedly outed as pure fiction, often enough that a lot of us feel that maybe we were kidnapped, too.

I hope that people do not consider "insane" to be synonymous with "murderous" as I seemed to see but if they do it's a reason why we should think about how these terms harm people with the most marginalized mental health disabilities including psychotic disorders like mine who are not murderous.

most people associate schizophrenia, borderline, bipolar with “dangerous” & steer clear

this is despite the fact that we KNOW that people who experience psychosis are absolutely more likely to be harming themselves

folks who have seen or experienced madness & love mad people are my favorite people
