@ohboypod.bsky.social I too did not like Peewee as a youth. I never trusted grownups who pretended to be childlike. I didnt like it so much that I never watched Dinosaurs cuz they looked like the ones on Peewee's Playhouse. Also my dad walked us out of the movie when Large Marge showed up

this is the most importnt article I've read about education in years. How did this happen? I remember seeing all the commercials about Hooked on Phonics and thinking "don't they teach phonics in schools anymore? why is this necessary?"
ever since I learned about three-cueing I've developed infinitely more patience for replies on social media. mfers literally do not know how to read. people are walking around conjuring random meanings into words they don't know, and they don't know a lot of words. it's crazy

Sometimes when people ask me why I’m wearing a mask I say I’m traveling or have some important thing soon and can’t afford to get sick and miss it and that’s pretty much always true but I think it would be nice if it were more normalized to just say “I don’t want to get sick” and leave it at that

Okay so some real talk: I am fully aware that there are many gatekeepers in the arts that hate me. I know a big part of it is that I’ve bypassed them and still found an audience for my work. But I am also aware it’s because of this bypassing I am much harder to control when I speak up.

Honestly I'm a little annoyed that Momdani is taking so much attention away from the fact that Dick Cheney is finally dead. Oh well, I guess I'll let the guy have his win. But tomorrow we're definitely peeing on Cheney's grave (metaphorically)

Just some naked bigotry on Real Time this week, as Bill Maher 1. Says the allegations against Cuomo are "bull shit" ("we did a deep dive on that") 2. Dems should have a "Sister Souljah" moment via stopping Mamdani from winning, partly because "he's a Ugandan citizen" and "they kill gay people there"
