It should not be controversial to say that the starvation of Gaza’s children is wrong, @julieebeck.bsky.social argues:
It Should Not Be Controversial to Plead for Gaza’s Children
Israel’s limits on aid have put the region at “critical risk of famine.” Help is within reach. But it’s not enough—and it’s arriving too slowly.

No one experiencing the tragedy of a miscarriage should be arrested, much less abandoned in jail for 5 months with a $100k bond. But that’s exactly what happened to Mallori Patrice Strait in Texas. Women, particularly women of color, in this country are no longer allowed dignity even in extreme loss

Trump said again he’s open to sending U.S. citizens to a Salvadoran prison. There is no constitutional basis for this—such an act would be a direct violation of the Constitution.

Calm down, folks, it was just an attempted assassination of a Jewish Democratic governor and his family on the first night of Passover, it’s not like somebody spray painted a dick on a Cybertruck.

I feel like Catch 22 is one of the most obviously leftist books just bc the protagonist is a smart guy who understands the insanity around him in perfect clarity, but nobody takes him seriously because it's also turned him into a miserable, high-strung neurotic

And what's more leftist than that

When you solve for the wrong problem, not only do you not get the solution, you can cause harm. The President wasted water that was being saved for farmers for a PR stunt.

This was harmful, ludicrous, and solved nothing.

I love that a white guy was flying the plane, a white guy was flying the helicopter, and a white guy gutted the FAA last week but somehow the blame is too much diversity.

No, I don't need a bloody copilot for this document, thank you.

Writing is, in no small part, a tool for thinking. If you outsource that element to a machine that cannot think, you shouldn't be surprised if, at the end of the process, neither you nor your reader are any the wiser.

This is a slap in the face to American women.

Pete Hegseth has a track record of disrespecting women service members, and multiple credible sexual assault allegations.

Our troops deserve better.

A female meteorologist was fired for accurately describing a Nazi salute, and a female pastor was threatened with deportation (despite being an American) for leading a service about having compassion for our fellow man.

The bully pulpit broligarchy effect.

Our nation is lacking today the precise qualities Jimmy Carter personified: honesty, decency, and selfless service to a greater good.

May his life remind us of those virtues and may his passing inspire us to revive them.

Rest in peace.

“I can’t think of any book set anywhere, not even a fantasy, honestly, that doesn’t have something to say. In fact, fantasies and romances are some of the most political books out there, and they’re technically not reality”

How many times am I going to have to write another “first post”? No idea how to find my people here, but hoping the book and writing communities are lively.
