Capitulation to the current regime is cowardice. The Smithsonian Institution is the most egregious cowardice of all, as it has literally embodied our national history. Not so much anymore. I'm in tears.

“Yet even with all this bluster and rancor, it was the rage at a small African nation and the unabashed racism that was truly extraordinary.

After speaking for over an hour, Trump took questions from the White House press corps. None of them pressed him on the comments about Somalia or its people”

It’s notable that the president can go on TV and be a total gutter racist, and somehow this isn’t news in the slightest. Says a lot about the sickness of American society right now.
Trump: "They're paid agitators and insurrectionists. Nobody talks about the fact that $19 billion at a minimum is missing in Minnesota, given to a large degree by Somalians. They've taken it. Somalians. A lot of very low IQ people."

This isn't freedom.

This is Nazi police state bullshit.

This is what the Republican Party represents.

This is what "centrist" Democrats accept.

Learn to say NO. NO to all this fascist trash.
New— An American citizen boarding flight from Boston to Lisbon just now told me after showing boarding pass, every passenger stopped on jetway by two ICE agents demanding to take their photo. When passenger asked why, ICE threatened to detain them. If they said no photo, couldn't board/TBD detained.

Q: What goals do you have for '26 in Congress for your agenda?

TRUMP: I have great executive orders. Like, water coming out of a sink. The water wouldn't come out. They had all sorts of restrictions. I took them off. Straws. They don't have to be paper anymore. I'd like to have all that confirmed.

I was a teen in the 60s, watching Dr. King in the short film clips & news stories on tv. Watching the Southern Blacks beaten, fire hosed, police dogs set on them, protest buses set on fire. People dragged from lunch counters. The vast crowd assembled at the Lincoln Memorial to hear King speak.
MLK was only 39 when he was killed. Growing up, I thought that was old. But I’m 43 now and I’m stunned by the burden he shouldered at such a young age. I’m also a lot more aware of how hard it is, at any age, to carry the hopes and dreams of an oppressed people on your shoulders, as so many do.

I am not exaggerating when I say ICE functions as a terrorist organization in the Twin Cities. The goal seems to be to harass and frighten people (the ones who are lucky enough to not be abducted, at least) and it's deeply unsettling when you learn they're in your neighborhood.
